About Us

Science e-communication project is a start-up project led by Dr. Gaye Defne Ceyhan, a faculty member at Boğaziçi University Science Teaching Programme. As of September 2022, "Science Communication Meetings" are organised in the project, taking into account the importance of student-scientist interaction.  Within the scope of the project, a Science Communication Meeting is planned for each science unit and questions are collected from students digitally. Each meeting is paired with the relevant scientist according to the subject and an interactive environment is created where students can ask their questions about the subject to the experts of the field. With this project, the aim is to make science and scientists accessible to students, to develop science communication practices, to evaluate the effects on students' interest and attitudes towards science according to the Expectancy-Value Theory, and to investigate the development of the types of questions formed by students.

For the development of Science Communication in Turkey and the sustainability of the project, it is aimed to create a basis for the communication platform by developing this website. Thus, it is aimed to continue student-scientist interaction after the project is completed.
